Home Office Set-up

Many aspects of building the perfect office are personal choices based on the individual’s needs but ease of use, performance, and ergonomics are the main priorities everyone should focus on when putting together an office space.

Ease of Use-

Voice controlled lighting, separate audio control, cable management, ad blockers, and so much more is important to consider when designing a clean, usable office space. We also help integrate software to improve focus and efficiency.

Performance-

There are many ways to increase productivity by improving your office space. Dual, triple, and even quadruple monitor set-ups aren’t uncommon nowadays as they increase efficiency drastically. Removing unwanted software such as bloatware and anti-virus programs can greatly improve performance without spending money on upgrades or a new computer.

A recent study by the Staples Corporation found that 94% of workers reported being more productive in a clutter-free environment.

Ergonomics-

Having a comfortable ergonomically correct office is crucial for long hours behind a screen. Adjustable sit/stand desks are becoming commonplace as they allow users multiple positions to prevent fatigue. Improved monitor mounts, such as hydraulic mounts, allow for perfect positioning of monitors while also clearing up desk space. Desk lighting and monitor color correction are ergonomic solutions that can help reduce eye strain to keep you working longer.

Zoom meetings and video chats are becoming the norm as more people are working from home. Make sure your team can hear and see you properly with quality webcams, microphones, or headsets that are positioned and calibrated to ensure clarity.

A fast and consistent internet connection is imperative no matter what you’re doing on your computer. It’s ideal to have a hardwired internet connection but it’s even more important when participating in video calls. For more information on how we can help with networking, visit here.

Battlestation Installation

Home offices and gaming battlestations are surprisingly similar and should focus on the same 3 important factors (Ease of use, performance, and ergonomics)

We rarely recommend any “gaming” products. Ergonomic office chairs are superior to gaming chairs as they allow for more customization and better lumbar support. Good headphones and a desk mic will outperform even the best gaming headsets. That being said, the ease of use and perfect mic positioning of headsets cannot be understated.

When we do recommend gaming gear those products fall under these categories:

Monitor- Few monitors are exceptionally good at everything. When looking to purchase a monitor for gaming the priorities should be refresh rate, response time, and resolution in that order.

Mouse- This is the most “gaming” specific product we recommend. What you need from a mouse changes drastically when gaming. Side buttons become a MUST with some gamers requiring upwards of 6+ side buttons depending on their choice of game. Wired or wireless is mostly preference although this is one of few areas we recommend wireless.

Keyboard- Any serious gamer will say you are required to use a mechanical keyboard to be competitive. These keyboards have customizable button switches that have varying levels of pressure to activate and differing actuation points. These keyboards are significantly more expensive but much more rugged and will last many years.

LED lighting is very popular throughout gaming systems. Mouses, keyboards, even speakers will have customizable RGB LED lighting to set the ambiance for whatever mood you’re in. Additional LED lighting can be added for on-wall lights, under desk glow, or backsplash lighting.

Custom installations are uniquely designed to work with your needs and budget to get the most out of your set-up.
